Homelessness Week starts next Monday, as does the annual fundraiser Homeless Healthcare Soup Kitchen at Brookfield. The objective of the soup kitchen is to increase awareness of homelessness in the community and attendant health issues. Volunteers will be selling soup donated by Brookfield restaurants including Basilica, The Apple Daily, Churchill Bar and Restaurant, Gazette, The Heritage and Primal Pantry. Each cup of soup (with a bun) sells for $10, will funds raised going to assist Homeless Healthcare in delivering health services to homeless and marginalised people in our community. Flavours this year will include Churchill’s celeriac an truffle (pictured), pea and ham and for the first time, a vegan and gluten-free option.
